We have finals that week, so make sure you bring YOUR assigned device with you as none will be available. Also, during the final week we will be turning in Chromebooks after all classes no longer have a need for students to have a device. Please remember, you were assigned a device, bag, and charger. When we run our device check-in, if any one of these are not present your family will be billed for a replacement. Seniors, we will be collecting your devices before graduation practice, so please be prepared to turn in devices at that time.

7th Grade Scientists spent a day in Dubuque, IA at the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium. The students enjoyed learning about the ecology and physics of the Mississippi River through interactive exhibits. But the BEST part of the day? Touching LIVE starfish, sea anemone, and cow-nosed stingrays! Many thanks to the Middle School staff, parent chaperones, and Mississippi River Museum staff who made this day such an awesome experience!
Can't Rain on Ithaca's Parade!
Despite severe weather conditions on their field trip AND rain days, 8th Grade scientists at Ithaca managed to squeeze in the annual End-Of-Middle-School trip to Devil's Lake State Park.
It was a perfect day with a 5 mile hike (way to go, kids!), a picnic lunch, swimming, fishing, and ball games. What a great day full of memories to keep through high school and beyond!
The Ithaca Reading Department LOVES sharing books with students! Thanks to Mrs. Andrea Newkirk and Mrs. Shawna Kitsembel for facilitating this book give-a-way! It allows students the opportunity to have new books to read over the summer, to keep those reading skills FRESH! The department would like to thank Mr. Greg Herbst and Mrs. Kathleen Schoen for providing the support needed to make this event happen.
Ms Sprecher’s 8th Agriculture Class grew lettuce and radishes this spring in the Ithaca greenhouse. Students started the plants in the greenhouse and nurtured them to full size and delicious. Now they are enjoying the vegetables of their labor, harvesting and cleaning.

Recently, Senator Howard Marklein and Representative Todd Novak welcomed students from Ithaca Elementary School to the Capitol. There is a sign up for Summer League Volleyball at River Valley outside the office. Summer League is played on Monday Nights in June and July. Any 2024 players grades 9-12 that are intending to play Summer League need to sign up by Thursday, May 23, 2024. An informational volleyball meeting will be held on Friday, May 24 in the LMC during attack. If you are planning to play volleyball next Fall, please attend this meeting.

Bangor Sectional Champions are Kaylee Miller in the High Jump and Kaylee Peterson in the 800m run. Clayton Lee placed 3rd in the 1600m run. The girls 4X100m relay of Abri Koch, Kaylee Miller, Tristen Peterson, Kaylee Peterson and alternates Bailey Wanless and Maggie Kershner placed 4th. Life is precious! Ithaca/Weston Track and Richland Center/Ithaca Cross Country coach, Brenda Walton was a bit late arriving at the regional track meet Monday night because she had just competed in a half-Ironman Triathlon in Chattanooga, TN. By finishing with a qualifying time, Brenda has reached her goal of returning to the World Ironman Triathlon in Nice, France. Brenda returned to the Ironman circuit after training intensively following a heart attack in the fall of 2022 during the run portion of the World Ironman Triathlon in Utah. She was able to get the rapid response she needed to get back at running, biking, and swimming at the level that brings her joy. Brenda has coached generations of athletes, and she has shared her triathlon journey as an inspiration to many. Keep at it, Brenda!
