On Monday, Dec 2nd beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Ithaca Elementary Multipurpose Room or on Thursday, Dec 5th beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Weston Cafeteria, families can register for this season's youth wrestling program. With the upcoming hunting seasons, many students excitedly talk about traditions and activities that abound in our communities. Ithaca Principal Kathleen Schoen proactively reached out to Lt. Mike Czys, of the Richland County Sheriff's Department, who agreed to come in and lead discussion lessons with each elementary grade level/classroom. Mrs. Ellie Czys shared a great resource "McGruff Talks to Students about Gun Safety," which Lt Mike Czys utilized on his visit. Teachers and Officer Czys reported that students were very engaged in the discussion. Safety measures at Ithaca are of high priority to administration and staff. Thank you to Mrs. Czys, Lt. Mike Czys, and the Ithaca Elementary teachers for making this a productive and valuable experience.

Students who shoot a deer this season, buck or doe, can send a picture to Mr. Klang at klandav@ithaca.k12.wi.us to be entered. Pictures will be placed near Mr. Klang’s door. Prizes will be given for the biggest buck and a random drawing to all who enter. This includes archery season, youth season, and gun season.

Children must be healthy to be educated and educated to be healthy" preventing the spread of illness is a group effort. Our future bulldogs learned how to break the germ cycle, proper handwashing, how to cover your coughs and sneezes as well as tips for staying healthy. Nurse Wilson used Glo Germ to show students how far an uncovered cough or sneeze could travel. Students also got to put their hand washing skills to the test and see how important 20 seconds of proper hand washing with warm water and soap is. Nurse Wilson shared these tips to staying healthy with our bulldogs: getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables, drinking plenty of water, being active and playing outside, and staying home when you're sick.

Middle and High School musicians will take the spotlight in a concert on Monday, December 9th beginning at 7:00 pm in the High School gym. Under the direction of Mrs. Mary Beth Behrens, Mr. Wade McCoy, and Ms. Kyla Pluemer the 6th grade band and choir, the 7th/8th band and choir, and High School band and choir will perform sounds of the season.
