The Senior Class of 2025 took to the waterpark to celebrate the end of their career at Ithaca Public Schools. Thanks to Bill Kloehn for transporting the group and to advisors Heather Deitelhoff and Jessie Stellner for their guidance that day and in the days leading to graduation. It truly takes a village, and this class is grateful to all Ithaca staff and community for helping them reach this milestone.
The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) has awarded $978,637 in Wisconsin Fast Forward grants to 18 school districts across the state that will serve an estimated 4,281 students.
The Ithaca School District received $5,154 to purchase a SawStop Cabinet Table Saw, SawStop Mobile Base, Spectrum 625 Plasma Cutter, and Millermatic 211 Welder, which will provide students with hands-on fabrication experience.

The Ithaca/Weston Track and Field team competed in the John D. Young Ridge & Valley Track meet last night hosted by North Crawford High School. Congratulations to both teams on some spectacular finishes, jumps, and throws. Highlights include: 2nd Place for the boys 4X8 relay of Braysen Garcia-Boland, Jon Hash, Deakin McDonough, Sam Jones; 1st place for Clayton Lee in the 800m run, the 1600m run, and the 3200m run; 3rd place for the boys 4X2 of Jon, Randy Pichardo Flores, Gage Buscher, Bathasar Kaiser; 3rd place for the boys 4X4 of Sam, Jon, Deakin, and Balthasar; 2nd place in the Shot and 3rd in the discus for Holly King; 3rd in the 100m hurdles for Tristen Peterson; 3rd in the girls 4X8 for Jadyn Boland, Faith Studnicka, Holly King, and Maggie Kershner. The night saw many personal best for the Ithaca/Weston athletes. Congratulations to all of you on a successful meet! All results for our athletes can be found on our Facebook page. August Ringelstetter recently qualified for and performed a vocal solo "Brother Will, Brother John" at State Solo and Ensemble in Platteville. He received a First, and also received the WSMA Exemplary Performance Recognition Award. This is a huge accomplishment, and a recognition that reflects his work and talent. Congratulations, August!
To receive this recognition, adjudicators throughout the day nominate students whose performance was truly exceptional – beyond what is typically expected for this age group. At the end of the day, each adjudicator selects the most exceptional performances to receive the Exemplary Performance Award from among those nominated.

You do not have to attend school or even live in the District to receive Ithaca’s free breakfast and lunch! REALLY? YES anyone that can make it to Ithaca to pick up the meals can sign up and best of all (besides being free) there is no paperwork to fill out for income eligibility.

The district does not get reimbursed for food that is not picked up. If you fail to pick up your food at your scheduled time TWO times during the Summer Food Program, we will stop providing food for your child / children.

Our Kindergarten Bulldogs have been traveling back to colonial times in their CKLA lessons learning about making butter, bread baking, and spinning wool. Mrs. Kitsembel took the lesson a step further, and had the students make their own butter and taste test their hard work. They even shared their yummy treat with other teachers to enjoy. What a fun way to bring learning to life for some of our youngest students!
A cold night for breaking records, but Ithaca High School junior, Clayton Lee got it done! Congratulations to Clayton who broke his own school record (set at the same meet last year) in the 3200m run at the Steve "Sparky" Reynolds Memorial Invitational at Boscobel High School on Friday night. Clayton set the new time at 10:17.37 and is pictured with distance coach, Brenda Walton. Catch the action tomorrow night as the Ithaca/Weston High School Track and Field team travels to North Crawford for the John D. Young Ridge & Valley Conference Championship meet.

Middle School Students have the opportunity to continue to spread some kindness and boost mental health by participating in a week-long Act of Kindness challenge this week (May 12-16th). Post-it notes will be available to write a positive message or affirmation for a fellow student. If you receive a positive message, pay it forward by writing a message and giving it to someone else (not the person who gave one to you). Our goal is to get a MINIMUM of one positive message to each middle school student by the end of the week, and boost mental health for all of middle school!

In observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, Sources of Strength will be hosting a mental health trivia contest all this week, (May 12th-16th.) Prizes will be awarded to the first class to call into the office with the correct answer each day. On Wednesday May 14th the 3rd and 4th grade classes toured the Wisconsin Capitol and The Veteran’s Museum. We learned a lot about Wisconsin history and those who served our country. It was a great day to be a Bulldog!

Musicians in this year’s 8-11th grade who are wanting to attend the Spring 2026 New York City trip should hand in their contract and non-refundable deposit to Mrs. Thompson (check made out to “Ithaca Music Boosters”) by Monday, May 19th.
From Ms. Ernzen:
The final Book Club meeting for the year will take place on Monday, May 19th during ATTACK in Ms. Ernzen’s room. We will be reflecting on this year and begin planning for next year.
From FFA:
The FFA Awards Banquet is Wednesday, May 21 at 7 pm in the commons. We will be recognizing all our members’ accomplishments and announcing our 2025-26 officer team!

We will continue to announce birthdays at the beginning of the school day; however, they will no longer be listed on the announcements that are sent to the general public.

Parents/guardians are informed of field trips via permission slips. Unlike an athletic event or music concert, field trips are not open invitations for the general public to attend. Therefore, as a safety precaution, field trips will no longer be listed on the calendar on the District's website.
