Ithaca’s Middle School Sources of Strength group was inspired by The Little Hearts Project (thelittleheartsproject.org), to spread mental health and suicide prevention awareness. Crocheted hearts, offered to all middle and high school students, are attached to a tag with the 988 crisis line number on the front, and an inspirational saying on the back. Mental health matters!

The Ithaca/Weston High School Track & Field team had a successful showing at the New Lisbon Mill Haven Invitational on Saturday. Top boys finishes included Channing Brown with a 3rd in the 800m race, the boys 4X800m relay of Braysen Garcia-Boland, Randy Pichardo Flores, Kerrick Thompson, and Sam Jones placed 4th, the boys 4X400m relay of Sam Jones, Channing Brown, Landon Thompson, and Micah Salisbury placed 5th, Channing Brown placed 6th in Long Jump, the boys 4X200m relay of Landon Thompson, Channing Brown, James Timm, and Kerrick Thompson placed 6th, Landon Thompson placed 8th in Long Jump, and Sam Jones placed 8th in the 400m dash. Many athletes had personal bests. The girls team placed 1st overall! Congratulations to the FBLA members who participated in the State Leadership Conference in Green Bay last Monday and Tuesday. Jadyn Boland and Izabela Ortiz in Introduction to Social Media, Emma Coy and Alivya Young in Broadcast Journalism, Callie Muckler in Introduction to Social Media, and Landon Thompson in Insurance and Risk Management. Four students qualified to attend the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL June 29 - July 2; Holly King, Kailey Newkirk, and Tristen Peterson in Graphic Design and Abby Plonka in Parliamentary Procedures. The conference also featured several breakout sessions with many experts in their topics. Mrs Burnley spoke highly of former Packer Rob Davis and his presentation of "The Power of Now." He has been named the Director of Learning & Development for the Packer organization that involves diversity, inclusion, and equity in the organization and beyond the field. Congratulations on your achievements and good luck!

Ithaca Schools is hosting a Career Exploration Day. The district is seeking businesses and education partners to participate and showcase your career pathway. This event is for Ithaca middle school and high school students. They would like to invite interested businesses to come and inspire students by sharing your career journey, information about your workplace, and answer any questions the students may have. This event will be held at the Ithaca Gymnasium Tuesday April 30, from 8:15 AM until 11:15 AM. The students will visit business/education booths to get a better understanding of Career Pathways and explore career opportunities. There will be refreshments and a continental breakfast for partners to enjoy. There's no business like show business! Ms Okus took Ithaca High School choir students to watch one of Ithaca's own grace the stage at UW-Platteville on Wednesday as Kyla Pluemer portrayed Wednesday in The Addams Family Musical. The choir was able to visit briefly with Kyla and get a tour of some of the Music Department while they were there, and rounded out the trip with a stop in Boscobel for ice cream at Udder Brothers Creamery.

Congratulations to 6th grader Molly Geraths, for winning the t-shirt design contest for the 2024 Sources of Strength Regional Retreat! Her design incorporated the colors of the 8 protective factors on the Sources of Strength wheel, all within the outline of the great state of Wisconsin. Way to go, Molly!
