Ithaca School District is currently seeking to fill our Business Manager position. The Business Manager reports to the Superintendent and is a member of the district administrative team. This position supervises the Food Service Director, the Facility Services Coordinator, and the Business Services team. Business Services personnel include the HR/Payroll Specialist and the Business Office Assistant. The successful Business Manager will possess a deep understanding of school finance, procedures, and possess a strong desire to service the district’s stakeholders as a servant leader. Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and positive leadership skills are essential. Experience with Skyward accounting software is desired. Current Wisconsin licensure as a School Business Administrator (5008) preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: •Experience in business management and/or administration •Ensure that the accounting procedures within the school system meet all federal, state, and local requirements •Develop all district financial reporting, including but not limited to monthly board financial reports and all annual financial reports required by the State of Wisconsin. •Ensure compliance with statutory and audit requirements •Oversee the collection of all revenues, monitor the cash flow of all district accounts, and invest excess funds in accordance with Board policy and state statutes. •Attend monthly Finance Committee Meetings and present a budget update •In collaboration with the district administrator, develop, implement, and oversee the annual school district budget •Oversee the annual audit preparation in areas of responsibility •Present the district budget at the annual budget meeting •Ensure that student activity accounts operate in accordance with board policy and proper accounting procedures •Oversee the payroll and benefits system that meets all federal, state, and local district requirements •Maintain a purchasing system that makes optimum use of district resources and updates the purchase order system with current encumbrances •Maintain a risk management program of the district including recommending and securing proper levels of insurance coverage, maintenance of policies, inventory and appraisal documents •Assure that all financial, enrollment, food service, and state/federal grant audits are conducted as required by the state and federal regulations The Business Manager position qualifies for the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) and is eligible for the district’s comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental and vision insurance, and more.
