Rubber Band Racers - Ready to Rumble!
After students discovered flaws in their designs, they make formal requests to postpone the race in an effort to problem-solve. Students took 2 extra days to rework (and sometimes 100% redesign!) their rubber band racers.
After test runs on Friday, the racers are ready! Here's your line-up! Will the Cottage Cheese Cruiser, White Wagon, Binder Clip Buggy, or Sour Cream Speedster win? Stay tuned to find out!

Another Ithaca High School track and field record bites the dust! Congratulations to Ithaca/Weston High School Track and Field senior, Kaylee Miller! On Saturday at the Ginger Morrey Invitational in Muscoda, Kaylee broke the school record in high jump. The previous record was set by Joni Davies Gilles in 1987 at 5'1.5". Kaylee's new record stands at 5'3". Pictured with Kaylee are her parents, Hank and Amanda Miller. She and her teammates will next compete tomorrow night at North Crawford in a small conference meet as they prepare for the post-season. Good luck!
Ithaca student James Spinhirne was diagnosed with cancer in November 2021. James's cancer journey lasted nearly 2 and half years. We are happy to announce James received his LAST chemotherapy treatment late last week. Ithaca Superintendent Greg Herbst, Ithaca School Nurse Samantha Wilson, James's mother Tammy, and the entire High School gathered on his last day of treatment to help James celebrate. He was presented with a cake and trophy to mark this GREAT occasion.
Several Ithaca students (and even some alumni!) participated in the "Cheers to 25 years" RC Dance recital this past weekend. They showed everyone that our Bulldogs have some moves, and are amazing performers who work hard. Great job, dancers. We are proud of you!

Congratulations to Kaylee Miller who broke the school record in the High Jump on Saturday at the Ginger Morrey Invitational in Muscoda. The previous record was held by Joni Davis Gilles, who set it at 5’1.5” in 1983. Kaylee set the new record at 5’3”. The teams competed on Friday at River Valley’s annual Alumni Invitational and Saturday at Riverdale High School for their annual Ginger Morrey Invitational. 6th Grade Astronomers are measuring the Solar System!
A few 6th graders took on the challenge today to measure out our Solar System in centimeters. Even on such a tiny scale, (and not including Dwarf Planet Pluto), the Solar System stretched from the back end of the Middle School hallway almost to the commons - around 29 yards!
The young astronomers will spend the rest of the school year studying the inner terrestrial planets, the moon, and the stars!
