The careers class applied the life skills and job skills they have been learning about and practicing during the Mock Interviews yesterday. Sophomores prepared a cover letter, resume and references for an entry level job they would like to apply for. Community business people donated their time and talent to interview the students and give them feedback on their interview as well as their cover letter and resumes. Although the students were nervous, they all agreed that the interview wasn't as bad as they thought it would be. The careers class teaches interviewing skills to every high school student as well as help them set goals for being career and college ready. A big thanks to the following for donating their time to invest in the future of our students: Julie Doudna, Dana Francois, DeAnna Jelinek, Pam Kaufmann, Chuck Keller, Monica Kershner, Laura Melby, Brian Moore, Marty Richards, Dave Schoen, and Ashley Touissant.

Middle School Student Council is working to help wildlife. Save your mascara wands and old bra clasps! Clean old mascara wands with soap and water, place them in a zip bag and bring them in. Wildlife refuges use mascara wands to clean animals from oil, larvae, fly eggs, mites, infections, mud, and other contaminants. Cut off clasps from old bras to be used by refuges to repair damaged turtle shells. Bring all items to Mrs. Hilby! Thank you for helping us help animals!

The 38th Annual Bi-State Wrestling Tournament brought over 700 wrestlers and almost 70 teams from Minnesota and Wisconsin to the LaCrosse Center. Ithaca-Weston wrestlers saw tough competition and performed quite well according to Coach Clary. Congratulations to Sawyer Willis and Monty Jennings on their 10th and 11th place finishes, respectively. All the wrestlers have plenty to be proud of Ithaca-Weston placed 10th in the Division 3 standings with 68 points. Many wrestlers scored team points and all wrestled competitively. Next up, I-W travels to the Sauk Prairie Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 4th. (Photos courtesy of Lisa Clary)

Sometimes we get caught red-handed. Sometimes principals get caught "read" handed... What started as a small reading group, grew into a large reading group with Mrs. Schoen.
