Its playoff football time! Ithaca travels to Bangor Friday night for a 7:00 PM kickoff. There is a WIAA $6 entry fee for the game. The Bangor exit from the East on I-90 is closed. Due to construction, here are some alternate directions: Take West Salem Exit and take Co B to get to Bangor. You could also take HWY 16 out of the mall area of West Salem. In town is fairly congested with construction - main street is open: turn to go past Village Inn restaurant and left at 3/4 blocks to the school. Bangor is fully masked school, so if fans go inside a building they need to wear a mask.
With playoff football just a day away, our THROWBACK THURSDAY memory takes us back to the 1988 football season.
October 23-31 is National Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week started after the death of Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, who was brutally murdered in 1985 by drug traffickers he was investigating in Mexico. After his death, people wanted to honor his sacrifice. Local observations began in California – where Camarena grew up – in 1985, and in 1988 the National Family Partnership started the first National Red Ribbon Week. Next week, students will have opportunities to participate in activities to learn more about healthy choices, personal responsibility, and/or facts about drugs and drug abuse prevention. We will also have dress up days to draw attention to the importance and impact of National Red Ribbon Week!
No School? Nope.
