Congratulations to Ithaca Public Schools’ very own Cheryl Richards for being named WASBO’s Business Official of the Year! Cheryl received this award at the annual Wisconsin State Educators Convention this week. Again, congratulations, Mrs. Richards!



This quarter, Ithaca fourth grade students created dioramas representing early Wisconsin people’s culture and environment. Students included information on how Wisconsin’s early people gathered and/or harvested food, used natural resources, and created homes unique to their people.

This Day in History: Martin Luther King Jr. Day Martin Luther King Jr. was a leader of the American civil rights movement in the 1050 and 1960s. Before his assassination in 1968, he received the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to use nonviolent resistance to achieve equality for African Americans. Due to the inclement weather last Friday that closed school, finals will NOT be held on Monday (tomorrow). An updated schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday finals will be announced to students at school on Monday. Monday, January 17th, will run as a normal schedule for all students.

The Drive-By Parade for Ben Huebsch will NOT go on as planned for tomorrow. If there is a reschedule date we will pass that along, but as of now the Drive-By Parade for Ben Huebsch scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday) has been canceled. The organizers would like to thank all road crews and in particular Greg Olson for preparing the area roadways for the parade.
Decorating the softball fence will still occur though! Meet to start at about 11am.

Ithaca Freshman, Ben Huebsch has been able to be home for a few days as he prepares for his second round of treatment. We want to send him into his next round of battle feeling the love and support from his family, friends, and community. Sunday, January 16th there will be a drive-by parade starting at the Ithaca High School parking lot. Anyone wanting to decorate their vehicle can meet at the school parking lot at 10am. The parade will leave the school promptly at 11:00am. Decorating the softball field fence will be done before and after the parade, anyone is welcome to join help. Look for the Facebook event to receive updates as they arise.
