GO GREEN FOR BEN! Ithaca Public Schools is going green for Ben Huebsch on Friday, February 11th. During the school day, wear green in support of our friend, Ben. School dress code still applies, no hats, please. During the boys' and girls' basketball games, Green Out the Gym to show our support. You'll get to hear the winner of the TV and cash prize as it's drawn during halftime at the boys' game (their game is first). The Ithaca FBLA members enjoyed an in-person Regional Leadership Conference on Saturday, February 5 at LaCrosse Central High School. Qualifying to advance to the State Leadership Conference on March 28 & 29: Alana Nelson and Elise Newkirk: 1st place in Broadcast Journalism, Kailey Newkirk and Tristen Peterson: 1st place in Introduction to Business Presentation, Erica Steinmetz: 1st place in Public Speaking, Will Burnley: 2nd place in Organizational Leadership, Emma Coy and Alivya Young: 2nd place in Introduction to Social Media Strategy, Holly King: 2nd place in Introduction to Public Speaking, Carissa Willis: 3rd place in Job Interview. Alternate to the State Leadership Conference: Landon Thompson: 4th place in Introduction to Business Procedures. Additional placing participants in the Regional Leadership Conference: Brooklyn Freestone: 5th place in Business Communication, Josie Laue: 7th place in Introduction to Business Procedures. Also participating in a very popular event were Caleb Birkrem, Danny Feryance & Matt Kepler in Sports & Entertainment Management. Unfortunately, several students had injuries, illnesses, and other conflicts and were not able to participate at RLC. They were definitely missed. As a team, Ithaca placed 9th at the Regional Leadership Conference in LaCrosse on Saturday. Thank you, Talena Sprecher, for attending RLC to participate in the workshops and support your FBLA teammates. A huge shout out to Andrea Newkirk for spending the day in LaCrosse with us and all of your time helping the students prepare for their events.
