Congratulations Ithaca High School Forensics! This year, 2,474 students in 1,892 entries, representing 306 schools advanced to the State Wisconsin High School Forensic Association Festival. The top five percent of medal-earning schools are recognized with Excellence in Speech Awards, and the top six to ten percent of medal-earning schools are recognized with Distinction in Speech Awards. All of Ithaca's 18 students advanced to the 2022 state contest. At the conclusion of this year's State Contest held at DeForest High School, Ithaca High School earned a Distinction in Speech Award for the performances of our students. Since 1895, the Wisconsin High School Forensic Association (WHSFA) has provided programming for middle and high school students in theatre, debate, and public speaking activities. Each year, the nonprofit organization serves about 10,000 Wisconsin students from 375 high schools, and 150 middle schools in the longest-running high school speech contests in the nation. This season's team was led by coaches Juli Thompson, Louise Murphey, Chay Schmitt, and Emily Zorea. Seniors Emma Schoen and Brooklynn Granger received the coveted Gold Medallion for earning perfect scores every year at the state contests. The relay team of Emma Coy, Kaylee Peterson, Tierney Powell, and Kaylee Miller won the event in a time of 10 minutes and 45.60 seconds. Well done!

The Ithaca FFA will be selling over 200 hanging baskets and planters in addition to some 3 packs of annuals and started tomato plants. We will be open on April 30th from 10 am-2 pm, May 1 from 2 pm- 5 pm and after school until 5 pm on the weekdays until we sell out. Please help support our FFA and FFA students working hard at their SAE project. Funds will help pay for conferences, competitions and travel to these events.
