
Congratulations to Ty Kershner on being selected as a 2022 DeKalb Agricultural Accomplishment Award winner! This is a national award presented to students who exemplify achievement in scholarship, commitment and work ethic.


In Library Class, 5th grade students completed citizenship or government research projects. Working in teams of two, students selected their topic, read a book and online source, took notes, and created presentations. Over the past two weeks, each student group presented their research to high school students, and answered questions about their presentation topic from the audience. Well done, 5th grade!

As an academic and entertaining field trip, Ithaca Middle School 8th Graders travelled to Devil's Lake State Park. Students explored the park and enjoyed a day together. The school year is drawing to a close, and the stellar careers of three Ithaca School District staff members are wrapping up as well. Collectively, these long-time staff members have been influencing our students for almost 100 years!
Mary Beth Behrens, band director and instrumental music teacher is retiring after yielding her baton for 34 years.
Barb Michel has served many roles in our building over her 28 years, most recently as an administrative assistant.
Kris Willis has guided students in the middle school classroom for 34 years.
We wish all our retirees a very happy future, and we thank them for all they have provided our students, staff, and community.

Congratulations, Brooklynn Granger, LPN! Ithaca High School Senior, Brooklynn Granger recently graduated from Southwest Technical College and was pinned as a licensed practical nurse. As part of the partnership between CESA and SWTC, Brooklynn participated in the CollEDGE Up program to reach this achievement. A special night for our friend, Ben Huebsch! Ben attended last night's JV baseball game and was able to throw out the first pitch. This was an emotional night for him and his family, as well as most in attendance. A special thank you to the Iowa-Grant team as at the conclusion of the game, they all greeted Ben. Ben and his family are so grateful to all who made last night possible, and they thank all who have and continue to support them in so many ways.




Ithaca's School Library was able to provide one free book from Scholastic to all students in elementary school to take home and keep for summer reading through two generous grants provided by Deb Fargen and the Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. Our students were enthusiastic to choose their book, and many began reading their book immediately. Special thanks to Deb Fargen and the Lambda Chapter for making this experience possible for our students!

This Day in History: EgyptAir flight 804 disappears over the Mediterranean Sea On May 19, 2016, 66 passengers and crew flying from Cairo to Paris on EgyptAir flight 804 disappeared over the Mediterranean Sea.It took a month to find the wreckage. At first the flight was thought to be a casualty of terrorism, but the true cause was revealed the next year. Today we continue to congratulate our Ithaca High School Seniors as they near their graduation ceremony. Your families and community are proud of your accomplishments as Bulldogs and are excited to see what adventures lie in your futures.
