From Music Boosters: The winners of the Ithaca Music Boosters 2024 calendar raffle for today is Jacki Heideman. Thank you to everyone who supports the Ithaca Music Department and its musicians of all ages.

From Mrs. Behrens: High School Band Students: This is a reminder to bring your Secret Santa gifts on Tuesday, Dec. 17th. 6th - 8th Grade Band Students should bring their Secret Santa gifts on Wednesday, December 18th.

From Ms. Jones & Mrs. Kershner: The Ithaca High School Student Council annual food drive started off strong yesterday. Students are stepping up as classes compete to see who can bring in the most food donations! Reminder: The top class with the most donations will receive a Pizza Party and the runner up class will receive a prize.

Yesterday The High School Student Council kicked off Christmas Spirit Week! This is a school wide event and all are welcome to participate! We kick off today with Grinch Green or Rudolph Red. Tomorrow will be flannel and vest day.

The winning class of the High School door decorating contest goes to: the Freshman class! The winner of the school wide classroom door goes to: Mr. Fetterly’s room. Congratulations!

From Ms. Ernzen: There will be a Book Club meeting on Tuesday, December 17th during ATTACK in Ms. Ernzen’s room.

From Mr. Andresen: The first Math Team competition of the year will be on Wednesday, December 18th during 8th hour and ATTACK in Mr. Andresen’s room. Students will be excused from their 8th hour class to compete. All ability levels are encouraged to attend. Good luck to all competitors!

From Mrs. Kershner: Fellowship of Christian Athletes will gather Thursday morning, December 19 for the 3rd annual Banana Bread Baking! We will begin at 6:30am. Cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa will be served. Please start bringing in those baking ingredients!

The RISE Mentoring Program will meet Thursday, December 19. Mentors, please pick up your little mentee at your assigned times and meet in the High School foods room for fun holiday baking.

From Mrs. Stellner, Ms. Ernzen, and Mrs. Pluemer: Sources of Strength will meet Thursday, December 19th, during ATTACK in the LMC. Bring your campaign ideas!

From PTSO: Popcorn Friday will be this Friday, December 20. Elementary students, your classroom teacher will take your order and money. Middle School and High School students you will be able to purchase yours during breakfast, at the end of your hallways. Cost is $0.50 per bag, limit 2 bags per person. Help support the 5th grade class!

From Coach Bailey Miller: Middle school girls’ basketball practice will start Thursday, January 2nd from 3:30 to 5:30pm in the community gym. There will be a short parent meeting after practice.

From Basketball Boosters: The Ithaca alumni basketball tournament will be Saturday, January 4th. The women's game will start at 6 PM and the men's game will start at 7:30 PM. There will also be a 3-point contest starting at 5 PM. There is a $5 donation to play in the games to benefit the Ithaca Basketball Programs. This Day in History: Near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Orville and Wilbur Wright made the first successful flight in history of a self-propelled aircraft on December 17, 1903. Orville piloted the gasoline-powered, propeller-driven biplane, which stayed aloft for 12 seconds and covered 120 feet.

From Mr. Herbst: We will continue to announce birthdays at the beginning of the school day; however, they will no longer be listed on the announcements that are sent to the general public.

From Mr. Herbst: Parents/guardians are informed of field trips via permission slips. Unlike an athletic event or music concert, field trips are not open invitations for the general public to attend. Therefore, as a safety precaution, field trips will no longer be listed on the calendar on the District's website.
