ITHACA HIGH SCHOOL AWARDS PROGRAMS
On Friday, May 17th, the Ithaca High School gymnasium was the site of the 2019 Ithaca Senior Scholarship and Awards Assembly. Following the scholarships, students were recognized for their accomplishments in the areas of Academic Awards, Forensics, Spanish, PTSO Semester Stars, FBLA/MOS Certifications, Career Education Cooperative/Youth Apprenticeship, and Art as well as a few other special awards including Honor Roll Pins, Gold Honor Cords and National Honor Society Stoles. Following the assembly, the Class of 2019 and parents, scholarship presenters and district staff were treated to a luncheon. The menu, decorations, and recipes were all planned, prepared, and served by the students in the Ithaca Advanced Foods classes as well as students from the Ithaca 8th Grade Class.
On Friday, May 24th, a high school assembly was held to celebrate the accomplishments of students in grades 9 through 11. Students were recognized in the areas of FFA, Student Council, Forensics, FBLA/MOS Certifications, Math Team, PTSO Semester Stars/Battle of the Books, Career Education Cooperative/Youth Apprenticeships, as well as Academic Awards including Honor Roll Pins. Special recognition was given to our retirees Robin Borski-Ziemke, Library Assistant and Dan Rice, Athletic Director for their years of service to the district. On Thursday, May 30th, a pep assembly was held to honor all Spring Co-Curricular Activities. At the beginning of the program, the Ken Solis Teacher of the Year Award was presented to 5th Grade Teacher, Kally Clary. Prior to the program, the seniors had the opportunity to do a celebration march around the playground for all of the elementary students. Thank you to all for making these days special in our community.
